Where to Get Married in the Luberon? Four Exceptional Wedding Venues in Provence

When I talk about Provence, I often mention the Aix countryside, its vineyards and lavender fields, its charming villages, but also the coastline between Marseille and Toulon, with its calanques and beaches.
But even if it slightly hurts my natural sense of local pride, it has to be said: Provence is much larger than that. And it is filled with incredible wedding venues, sometimes still little known, offering a truly perfect setting to celebrate your wedding day.
Today, I would like to take you to a region that makes many couples dream: the Luberon.
Why Choose the Luberon for Your Wedding in Provence?
The Luberon is a Provençal mountain range stretching between Vaucluse and Alpes-de-Haute-Provence. Classified as a Regional Natural Park, it stands out for its rich biodiversity, preserved landscapes, hilltop villages, and remarkable architectural heritage.
It is an ideal destination for a wedding in Provence—elegant, authentic, and timeless. Whether you are dreaming of an intimate celebration or a larger reception, the Luberon offers an exceptional variety of wedding venues.
Discovering Wedding Venues with Vert le mariage
I had the opportunity to visit several wedding venues in the Luberon with Mélanie, a wedding planner at Vert le mariage.

human and thoughtful way of planning weddings—designed to free couples from unnecessary stress while staying true to their values.
Like me, Mélanie is part of the Mariez-vous network, and it felt natural for us to explore together four very different yet complementary wedding venues in the Luberon.
Domaine des Hauts de Sénanque – A Wedding Surrounded by Nature

Located just a few minutes from the famous Sénanque Abbey, between Gordes and Venasque, Domaine des Hauts de Sénanque is a typical Provençal mas, nestled in the heart of nature.
Recently taken over by new owners, the estate was still undergoing renovation at the time of our visit—but its potential is already undeniable. It is easy to imagine a wedding dinner under the stars, set in the inner courtyard, with a warm and gentle atmosphere.

Perfect spaces for every moment of your wedding
- A barn, ideal for the dance party or an indoor dinner
- A lavender field, spectacular in June, perfect for unforgettable couple portraits
- Two swimming pools (because two is better than one), allowing you to extend the celebration with your guests
- A non-consecrated chapel, ideal for an intimate symbolic ceremony or exchanging vows
Note: If the photos feel a little grey, it’s because they were taken on a November morning just after rainfall. As soon as the clouds lift, the entire place instantly feels much more summery.

The highlight: birds naturally keeping mosquitoes away in summer—one of those small details that truly matter for an outdoor wedding.
Domaine de l’Ermitage – A Wedding with Character in Sault

A change of atmosphere with Domaine de l’Ermitage, located in Sault, at the top of a hill.
This former 600 m² manor house, with a strong early 20th-century style, has a real personality. The interior volumes are generous, and the many bedrooms make it easy to accommodate part of your guests or children during the reception.

A venue suited to all conditions
- A 3,000 m² wooded park, ideal for a cocktail hour
- A paved terrace, perfect for an elegant dinner
- A swimming pool, pétanque court and tennis court
- A contemporary annex, designed by an architect—ideal for the bride to get ready away from curious eyes

The highlight: the master’s office, with its Belle Époque atmosphere, which immediately makes you imagine a groom’s photoshoot inspired by Peaky Blinders, surrounded by his closest friends.
Abbaye Saint-Eusèbe – An Elegant and Timeless Wedding

Abbaye Saint-Eusèbe is a former 12th-century abbey, deconsecrated during the French Revolution. It is a place filled with history, perfectly suited for a high-end wedding in Provence.
The beautifully landscaped gardens are ideal for a refined cocktail hour or an outdoor dinner under the stars, in a truly elegant Provençal atmosphere.

Spectacular indoor spaces
- A Romanesque nave with a very high ceiling, perfect for dinner
- A vaulted crypt, more intimate, ideal for the dance party

The highlight: the stone walls—absolutely stunning—offering a naturally beautiful backdrop for wedding photography.
Château de Vauclaire – A Wedding Among the Vineyards

Located near Pertuis, at the border between Vaucluse and Bouches-du-Rhône, Château de Vauclaire is a vineyard estate bordered by the Durance River.
The venue features a large reception hall, perfectly suited for dinner and the evening celebration, as well as spacious outdoor areas for the cocktail hour.
A vineyard wedding, between elegance and authenticity

The surrounding vineyards provide an ideal setting for natural and luminous couple portraits, typical of a wedding in Provence.

The highlight: the possibility of taking photos directly in front of the château, for images that feel both elegant and authentic.

FAQ – Wedding Venues in the Luberon
What are the most important criteria when choosing a wedding venue in the Luberon?
The key is to make sure the venue truly fits your wedding day: real capacity (seated dinner and cocktail), a solid plan B in case of bad weather, accessibility and parking, ceremony options, accommodation on site or nearby, and practical constraints such as noise limits, curfews, or required vendors. If photography matters to you, also pay close attention to the light and the variety of settings.
What is the best time of year to get married in the Luberon?
Spring and early autumn are often ideal, with pleasant temperatures, soft light and beautiful landscapes. Summer is stunning but can be hot, so shade, water and a well-thought-out schedule are essential. Winter weddings can work beautifully too, especially with a characterful indoor space and a strong plan B.
How can we plan a reliable backup option in case of bad weather?
A good plan B is not just “somewhere to stay dry”. It should still feel beautiful and comfortable: a bright indoor space, good ceiling height, smooth circulation, and the possibility to host the ceremony and dinner without completely changing the setup. In Provence, also consider wind and indoor lighting.
What questions should we ask when visiting a wedding venue?
Ask what is included (furniture, tables and chairs, lighting), noise restrictions and curfew, neighbourhood constraints, caterer access, electrical power, authorised areas for ceremony and cocktail, waste management, and setup/breakdown conditions. It’s also worth identifying the best shaded areas and the strongest photo spots on site.
Can we organise a symbolic or outdoor ceremony on site?
In most cases, yes. Ideally, the venue should offer several options: a tree-lined path, a stone courtyard, a garden, and an indoor backup solution. For guest comfort and beautiful photos, think about sun orientation, sound equipment and enough space for seating.
How much time should we plan for couple portraits on the wedding day?
Usually, 15 to 25 minutes are enough if the venue offers beautiful settings close by. The best time is often late afternoon, when the light is softer, or during a short break in the cocktail hour without being away from your guests for too long.
What settings create the best wedding photos in the Luberon?
The most effective settings are often simple and timeless: tree-lined paths (cypress or plane trees), structured gardens, stone courtyards, old doorways or arches, and characterful interiors such as vaulted rooms, bright halls or spaces with fireplaces. A venue with varied atmospheres allows for diversity without losing time.
Is it better to choose a venue with accommodation on site?
It is a real advantage for comfort and logistics: getting ready, hosting children, and enjoying the end of the evening without stress. If there is no accommodation on site, check nearby hotels or guesthouses and plan shuttles or taxis for your guests.
Do wedding venues require specific vendors such as caterers or DJs?
Some venues have a recommended vendor list, while others require you to work with specific partners. Ask clearly what is mandatory, whether there are extra fees, and what technical constraints apply. This is essential for comparing venues and keeping control of your overall budget.
Why hire a wedding planner for this type of venue?
A wedding planner helps secure the logistics: timeline, vendor coordination, weather backup plans, guest flow and on-the-day problem solving. For a destination or venue-based wedding, this support often makes the difference between a stressful day and one you can truly enjoy.
