A Taylor Swift–Inspired Trend, Seen Through the Eyes of a Wedding Photographer in Provence

Home » My Diary » Trend Taylor Swift

A photography trend inspired by a Taylor Swift song — and the perfect excuse to tell the story of Provence through images, focusing on what I love photographing most: couples, love, and real-life stories.

From Marseille to the Sainte-Victoire, from Sausset-les-Pins to Sanary, passing through Aix-en-Provence and Trets, this series is a heartfelt tribute to couple and wedding photography in Provence.

When Taylor Swift Meets the World of Photography

A few days ago, while browsing the Instagram account of a fellow photographer, I came across a trend inspired by the song The Fate of Ophelia by Taylor Swift.
The idea is simple: illustrate each line of the verse with an image, letting emotions speak for themselves.

Keep it one hundred
On the land, the sea, the sky
Pledge allegiance to your hands
Your team, your vibes

While I usually feel rather lost when it comes to social media trends, this time inspiration struck. Without overthinking it, I decided to take part.

This approach, which gives pride of place to emotion and visual storytelling, echoes aesthetics that can now be found within wedding photography, as I recently explored through my analysis of the wedding photographs of Selena Gomez.

And as we are only just recovering from the festive season, it felt like the perfect opportunity to share a selection of images blending love, commitment and connection.

Keep It One Hundred: Under the Sun of Marseille

This is the photograph I use as my profile picture almost everywhere.

It was taken by my better half at the Calanque des Goudes, south of Marseille, just as the sun was setting.

A Simple, Honest and Luminous Moment

To avoid being completely in shadow, I used a flash. I love how the sunlight gently outlines the face — almost like a metaphor. Sometimes, it only takes a small adjustment to bring a moment of life into the light.

I only regret not waiting fifteen minutes longer… the sky would probably have been extraordinary.

The Land: At the Foot of the Sainte-Victoire, Near Aix-en-Provence

This image was created during a wedding inspiration shoot near Aix-en-Provence, at the foot of the iconic Sainte-Victoire mountain.

Once again, my better half appears in the frame, standing in a vineyard, breathing in the scent of her bouquet of flowers.

An Image Deeply Rooted in Provence

The side light delicately shapes her silhouette, giving the scene depth and character.
I chose this photograph to represent “the land” because it feels deeply anchored in Provence — the place where I have the privilege to live, to love, and to photograph weddings.

The sea: The Wild Mediterranean in Sausset-les-Pins

At first, I wanted to use another image from this French-Ukrainian wedding celebrated in Sausset-les-Pins, on a day when the mistral wind was particularly strong.

But the composition did not work: either the couple was visible, or the sea — never both at the same time.

Facing the Elements, Alone with Her Bouquet

I eventually chose another image from the same wedding.

The bride stands alone, bouquet in hand, facing a wild Mediterranean Sea. It is a powerful, almost symbolic image — balancing fragility and strength, much like certain moments in a wedding day.

The sky: Sunset in Sanary-sur-Mer

This photograph could easily have been swapped with the previous one, as it was also taken by the sea. But here, the sky steals the show.

When the Sky Becomes a Witness to Love

From deep blue to soft pink, through shades of yellow and orange, the sunset offered us an unforgettable display.
This image was taken at the end of a shoot with vintage model Julie Cuttoli, on Portissol Beach in Sanary.

Her husband, Pierrick, was with us, and I suggested taking a few couple photographs before parting ways.

Looking back, I think that was a very good idea.

Pledge allegiance: Connection and Tenderness in the Streets of Aix-en-Provence

This photograph was taken on a winter evening in Aix-en-Provence.

Maréva is a “playful yet elegant charm” model, with whom I had already worked during a summer beach shoot. As the connection was immediate, we decided to plan a couple session with her partner, which eventually took place in December.

Photographing Love, Even at Night

Night-time couple photography is far more challenging than daytime sessions.
Artificial lighting creates a slower rhythm, gentler movements, and a closeness that feels almost inevitable.

While spontaneity may be more limited, it allows for the capture of deep tenderness, connection and intimacy.

And that is exactly what this image conveys.

Your Hands: Winter Passion in Aix-en-Provence

Last November, I photographed Violaine, our Miss Beautiful PACA 2025.
It was freezing cold, but the shoot took place in the evening, and she was accompanied by her partner, Mathis.

Hands That Speak of Love

I do not often use this expression, but Violaine and Mathis were genuinely adorable.
Not only because they are young and beautiful, but above all because they radiate a passionate and sincere love. The kind of love you experience in your twenties — intense, wholehearted, and fearless.

I chose this photograph because hands play a central role: they hold, they pull closer, they draw one another into a passionate kiss.

Your Team: A True Wedding Team in Trets

To illustrate this part, I selected an image from a wedding celebrated in Trets.
The groom carries his bride through a shaded pathway, while she proudly raises her bouquet of flowers.

Marriage as a Team Effort

This image conveys something very powerful: a true sense of partnership.
Two lovers who trust each other completely, who move forward together, and for whom marriage is, above all, a shared adventure.

Your Vibes: A Fiery First Dance in Auriol

To close this series, I chose an image from the first dance of a couple from Auriol — quite literally my neighbours.

Their dance had been rehearsed at length, prepared with care and passion.

All that preparation came together in a single moment.

An intense, vibrant, almost burning instant.

Fiery? Absolutely.

Conclusion: What If This Were Your Story?

What if, in a few months or a few years, you were the ones appearing in a series of images like these?

On the beach, in the heart of Provence, in the streets of Aix, or beneath the golden Mediterranean sunset.

Whether for a wedding, a couple photoshoot, an engagement, a vow renewal, or simply to celebrate your love as it is today, I love telling honest, vivid and imperfect stories — stories that truly reflect who you are.

If this series speaks to you, if these atmospheres resonate with your relationship, then perhaps our meeting is no coincidence.

FAQ – Couple & Wedding Photography in Provence

Why draw inspiration from a music trend for a wedding photography article?

Music trends create a strong emotional framework and allow photography to connect with popular culture. They offer a poetic way to tell love stories, relationships and moments of commitment, while leaving complete creative freedom to the photographer.

Do you photograph couples who are not getting married?

Absolutely. I work with all kinds of couples: engaged couples, married couples, vow renewals or simply partners who wish to celebrate their relationship at a meaningful moment in their lives.

Where do you offer couple and wedding photography sessions in Provence?

I mainly work across Provence, including Aix-en-Provence, Marseille, Trets, Auriol, Sanary-sur-Mer, Sausset-les-Pins, the Pays d’Aix area and the Mediterranean coast. I also travel throughout the region for destination weddings.

Is it possible to have a night-time couple photoshoot?

Yes, night-time couple sessions are absolutely possible. They require a different approach, using carefully controlled artificial lighting, but they create very intimate, elegant and emotional images.

How does a couple photoshoot with you usually unfold?

Each session is designed as a relaxed moment for the two of you. I gently guide when needed, but I focus mainly on natural interactions, connection and genuine emotions. My goal is to tell your story in an honest and authentic way.
